Chapter 157: Guangming and Darkness. [184]
Summary
Li Pin had been appointed as the magistrate of Nanhe County in Xingzhou, thanks to a recommendation letter from the influential Qin Siyuan. He was set to take office in February and was contemplating the situation, feeling a sense of indebtedness to his friend Ning Yi, who was dealing with troubles in Jiangning. Li Pin suspected that Qin Siyuan's recommendation might be connected to the court's deeper intentions, possibly related to the Black Water Alliance and the conflicts between Jin and Liao. Meanwhile, Ning Yi was busy accompanying his wife Su Tan'er on visits to merchants, having earned a reputation for being calculating and notorious. The couple was still in their honeymoon phase, spending their afternoons and evenings handling business matters and discussing their future together.Full content
