Summary

In early June, tensions rise in Han Dan as Liu Sui, the Zhao Wang, fears losing military power to a young relative sent by the Son of Heaven from Chang'an. Haunted by his father's tragic fate, he prepares for conflict. Despite his violent nature, Liu Sui's popularity is bolstered by his military acumen. When officials deliver an imperial decree granting Zhao Guo additional households, Liu Sui realizes rebellion is futile. Accepting the decree, he pledges loyalty, knowing the Emperor's favor diminishes any justification for insurrection. Meanwhile, other feudal lords also quickly align with the Emperor's interests, forgetting past grievances in light of new benefits.
