Summary

The chapter describes the conflict between the Song Dynasty and the powerful Liao Kingdom. Wang Ning An, a commander of the Song army, was caught off guard by the sudden chaos created by Fan Zhen, forcing him into an unprepared battle against the strong Liao forces. The Song army, despite winning more battles than they lost, could never deal a crushing blow to the Liao soldiers, who had superior cavalry. The Song Dynasty lived in fear of the Liao Kingdom, and even Wang Liang Jing's secret mission to face death was not as dire as he had imagined. However, Li Wu Ji's team successfully destroyed a Liao soldier camp, causing massive losses for the Liao. In retaliation, the Liao commander Ye Lu Zhong Yuan devised a plan to gather all the captured Song resources and population to lure the Song soldiers into a trap and wipe them out completely.
