Summary

Xu Yin experiences a restless night, feeling an impending crisis. He is jolted awake by a loud noise and discovers an arrow with a letter attached, revealing that Li Shan Heng has been kidnapped. The letter instructs him to meet at the Bi Bo Tavern, threatening him with General Yu Wen Shu's involvement if he does not comply. At dawn, Xu Yin rides to the tavern, where he meets General Zhang Xuan, who reveals he has Li Shan Heng and questions Xu Yin about his affiliations. Xu Yin admits to working for the Wu Chuan Prefecture, and Zhang Xuan informs him of the betrayal within Yu Wen Shu's ranks. Xu Yin then meets Dou Qing, who is anxious about Li Shan Heng's disappearance. He shares a letter he found, which he rewrote to conceal some details. Dou Qing learns that Zhang Xuan is behind the kidnapping and decides to meet him to negotiate for Li Shan Heng's release. Dou Qing instructs Xu Yin to continue aiding Yu Wen Shu while he plans his next move.
