Summary

Ning Chen bids farewell to the shopkeeper, who gifts him travel expenses. He leaves the imperial city to avoid being caught by Chang Sun, contemplating a peaceful life. As he wanders, he encounters envoys from Zhen Ji Guo, whom he disdains. At Lingyan Pavilion, he attempts to settle his debt but is confronted with a much larger sum owed for damages. Unable to pay, he is forced to work off his debt by washing clothes. After a grueling task, he feels exhausted but is met with a playful confrontation from Li Er, who teases him. Despite the challenges, Ning Chen contemplates his situation, realizing he needs to find a way to escape his predicament.
