Summary

Bai Wa returns home to devise a plan to trick his wife into going back to Daping Mountain. He pretends to be ill to convince her to accompany him, suggesting they seek treatment from his master. His wife agrees to the plan, believing it will help him. Bai Wa deceives her into thinking he received money from her brother to support their journey. As they prepare to leave, Bai Wa secretly arranges for a cart to escape instead. Meanwhile, the commander of Yi Di's Imperial Guard prepares to assassinate Dayu under the cover of a storm, with strict orders to secure the palace gates. Yi Di feigns ignorance of the assassination plot, understanding the risks involved and the political implications should it fail.
