Summary

Nagayama Yuuzuru casually asks Tosaka Rin to add him as a friend, leading to her reluctant agreement. As they travel with the Hai Yao team through the Inban Marsh and into the Tone River, Rin finds herself negotiating with local powers, frustrated by her role as a free laborer for Yuuzuru. Upon entering the Tone River, they encounter the Nara group of youkai, led by Niu Gui, who confronts Yuuzuru. A tense standoff ensues, showcasing Yuuzuru's growing power as he manages to impress Niu Gui with his strength. They discuss the presence of two major demons, Deep Sea Shihime and Yawata no Kitsune, which leads to Niu Gui agreeing to assist Yuuzuru in their journey in exchange for information about Yawata no Kitsune.
