Chapter 146: "The Emperor Fishes for Rivers and Mountains, the Grand Tutor Offers Strategies". [148]

Summary

Tai Shi, under Grand Chancellor Xia Qi's orders, visits Yi Di in disguise as a medicine messenger. Finding Yi Di fishing, Tai Shi offers a prescription for recovery, but Yi Di prefers to fish together. They discuss governance, likening fishing to ruling, emphasizing patience and proper education for the people. After fishing, they rest in a pavilion where they share updates on their health and intentions for Yi Di to resume his duties. Tai Shi vows to assist Yi Di in governance, while Yi Di expresses his wish for harmony between heaven and man. Back at Tai Shi's residence, he reports Yi Di's ambitions to Dayu, who warns of potential chaos if Yi Di's plans lack stability. They agree on the necessity of preventive measures and the importance of maintaining order amidst new policies. Dayu instructs Xia Qi to bolster defenses and prepare for any unexpected events, ensuring readiness against potential turmoil.
