Chapter 1451: Acting on Behalf of the People (3). [1468]
Summary
In the past, Zhang Tai Street was a political hub of the Qin Kingdom, but now it has devolved into a slum, home to the impoverished lower class of Chang'an. Despite improvements in living conditions, many children still suffer from malnutrition and poverty. Liu Che, aware of the stark contrast between the rich and poor, strives to uplift the lower class through various policies. However, corruption among officials undermines these efforts, leading to exploitation and coercion of the common people into debt and servitude. The chapter highlights the grim reality of social inequality and the challenges Liu Che faces in enacting meaningful change.Full content
