Living in Classroom of the Elite, but in the Underworld (Chapters 1-238)

Summary

The chapter describes a character who is observing the absurd behavior of another character named Yamauchi. The narrator, who is described as a "block of wood", looks down on Yamauchi's lack of self-control and patience. The narrator then reflects on how even he, someone who is good at finding others' strengths, cannot find any positive traits in Yamauchi. The chapter also describes the narrator's own experience of feeling isolated and ostracized, similar to how he perceives Ayanokouji to feel. However, the narrator believes that the strong need not concern themselves with the opinions of the weak. The chapter then shifts to the narrator using a coin to make a decision, with the belief that he can use the coin to have a 50% chance of starting his life over again at the last moment. Finally, the chapter describes the narrator being forced to participate in physical education events with a classmate named Suzune, who is utilizing the narrator's athletic abilities to the extreme, much to the narrator's dismay.
