Summary

Sheffer is a prosperous city, more so than the capital Paro Si Long, which has become desolate. While strolling, Yue Chen and his companions discover a fainted girl on the embankment. After reviving her, they encounter a dark-skinned woman claiming to be the girl's mother, who attempts to take her back with threats and bribes. Yue Chen refuses, leading to a confrontation with the woman's security guards. The girl, a slave from Nantes, pleads to go home, revealing her tragic background. Bo Sa Na realizes the gravity of the situation, and Shia reacts with anger, attacking the dark-skinned woman. As police approach, Bo Sa Na feels she has found the answer to their predicament.
