Summary

Liu Rong, the King of Huai Nan, feels resentment and frustration over his brother Liu De's success in Chang'an, believing he is the rightful heir to the throne. Surrounded by disgruntled nobles and scholars, he fantasizes about his own ascension while plotting to undermine Liu De. Despite his attempts to assert power, including occupying land from his father's ancestral temple, he remains frustrated by his inability to act freely. His ministers flatter him, fueling his delusions of grandeur, while he contemplates making a dragon robe and imperial seal, convinced he can play emperor without facing repercussions. Liu Rong's bitterness grows as his dreams of power slip further away.
