The Grand Wei Court.
Chapter 14: Shen Shufei. [13]
Summary
In the Great Wei dynasty, emperors must maintain a harem to ensure their lineage, with Emperor Zhao Yuan Si having over 20 consorts. The hierarchy consists of ranks, with the empress at the top, followed by three madams and nine concubines. Shen Shu Fei, a fourth-rank consort and mother of two princes, faces jealousy from others, particularly Chen Shu Yuan, who feels threatened by Shen Shu Fei's rising status due to her son's favor with the emperor. Despite her frail health, Shen Shu Fei remains dignified amidst palace intrigues. A broken porcelain jar symbolizes the tensions, with her son Zhao Hong Run suspicious of the incident, hinting at deeper palace conflicts.Full content
