Summary

Wu Da confronts his wife, Pan Jinlian, about her infidelity, warning her of the consequences when his brother returns. In a desperate move, Pan Jinlian seeks advice from Wang Po and Xi Men Qing on how to maintain her affair. Wang Po devises a sinister plan involving arsenic to poison Wu Da, promising that after his death, Pan Jinlian can be with Xi Men Qing. Despite her initial hesitation, Pan Jinlian follows through, administering the poison disguised as medicine. As Wu Da suffers and dies, the two women conspire to hide the evidence.
