Chapter 14: Living Together [13]
Summary
Best Wishes is surprised by a late-night visit from Dawn, who informs her that he can't stay at his house due to its untidy condition. She invites him to stay in her rented space for the night, considering his recent injury. After some hesitation, Dawn accepts and chooses a room in the east wing. Best Wishes, feeling hungry after a long day, prepares a self-heating hot pot for dinner and decides to sleep in her new space instead of her room. The next morning, she wakes up late and rushes to get ready for work, with Dawn knocking on her door to ensure she doesn't miss her start time. They head to the village chief to pay rent and ask about furniture. The village chief is pleased with their early payments and directs them to a local carpenter, Uncle Jiang, where they choose furniture for their homes. Best Wishes spends less than Dawn, and they arrange for delivery. Uncle Jiang also offers them clay pots for cooking, which they decide to buy. Afterward, Dawn suggests they go to town for a meal and check on a package Best Wishes is expecting.Full content
