Summary

After a period of recovery, the united anti-Japanese forces faced intensified encirclement by Japanese troops. Ye Cheng, Lin Yu, and Tang Qiu Yan devised a breakthrough plan, splitting into groups to attack weaker points. They encountered fierce resistance but managed to break through, suffering casualties. After crossing a river using fallen trees, they sought refuge in an abandoned village, where they encountered bandits. The bandit leader, impressed by their resolve, decided to join their cause. The resistance force grew stronger, ready to continue their fight against the invaders.
