Transmigration in the 70s: Taking the Courtyard to the Countryside as a Young Educator

Chapter 136: Meeting the Commander [135]

Summary

Aunt Zhu, a talkative and experienced woman, engages in conversation with Zhu Yuan, who is more reserved due to her respect for soldiers, particularly the superior of her brother, Zhu He. When Chun Yu brings vinegar, Aunt Zhu rushes to the kitchen, almost forgetting her cooking. Concerned about intruding, Zhu Yuan initially declines Aunt Zhu's invitation to stay for dinner but eventually agrees to return home for something to share. Zhu Yuan and Zhu He decide to bring some jars of sauce and crispy meat as a contribution. Upon arriving at Chun Yu's home, they meet the Commander, who is warm and approachable. Zhu Yuan finds the Commander amusing and joins in the light-hearted banter. She offers to help Aunt Zhu in the kitchen, wanting to avoid awkwardness with the Commander. They prepare a meal together, and when they sit down to eat, the Commander inquires about Zhu He’s superior, Peng Cheng. Aunt Zhu serves Zhu Yuan a chicken leg, but she insists it should go to Chun Yu instead, showing her thoughtfulness and reluctance to take more than her share.
