Summary

Mo Wuji emerged from a water pool, realizing many lotus flowers had been taken into his storage bag. After three days of frantic running in the Five Elements Wasteland, he stopped due to exhaustion. Assessing his surroundings, he noted uneven hills ahead, a desolate wasteland on the left, and a swamp on the right. He found a spot to hide and cleaned himself up before examining the lotus roots he had collected. The roots emitted a refreshing aroma, and upon slicing one open, he discovered extraordinary lotus fibers that invigorated him. As he cultivated, he felt his energy surge, nearing a breakthrough to the Ninth Layer of Meridian Expansion. However, he hit a bottleneck, needing a thunder source to advance further. Suddenly, he overheard a conversation involving Dong Lun, the young city lord of Ji Jian Cheng, which filled him with rage. He witnessed a confrontation between Dong Lun and an injured man, realizing he could not intervene without risking his life. The injured man attempted to persuade Mo Wuji to join forces against Dong Lun, but Mo Wuji remained cautious. As the battle escalated, the injured man was fatally wounded but managed to launch a desperate attack on Dong Lun, who dodged and stumbled toward Mo Wuji's hiding spot.
