Summary

Li Su met with Xu Jingzong, who was acting sorrowfully, but Li Su saw through his facade. Xu Jingzong proposed that Li Su take on a role in the newly established Fire Bureau, but Li Su declined, citing his laziness and lack of ambition. Xu Jingzong countered that there is no truly carefree person in the world and that Li Su has great merit for the nation. After the meeting, Li Su took a nap and then met with Dong Yang by the riverbank, where he roasted lamb skewers over a fire. Dong Yang enjoyed the food, but Li Su was disgusted by the sight of oil dripping from Dong Yang's mouth. Li Su playfully demanded payment for the food, but later revealed it was on the house. Dong Yang then ordered a guard to fetch grape wine and ice blocks, surprising Li Su with the wealthy household's ability to store ice.
