Summary

Xia Tian steps outside the inn into a polluted, oppressive atmosphere, discovering a large, murky river that enhances human combat power while restricting calamity creatures. He learns that General Zong, a respected military leader, has been injured by a poisonous creature during an attack. Despite his injuries, Zong's reputation inspires many, and the military doctor struggles to treat him due to a lack of resources for soul injuries. Xia Tian offers golden bee royal jelly, which successfully helps Zong recover. When Xia Tian meets Zong, he feels a sense of admiration but also tension as Zong questions the integrity of suzerains. Zong recounts a past incident where a suzerain betrayed his people, leading to a massacre. Xia Tian realizes he must prove his worth to Zong to recruit people from the inn. Zong offers him a chance to demonstrate his territory's strength. As Xia Tian leaves, he confronts two suspicious black-robed figures, intimidating them into fleeing.
