Summary

At dusk, Wu Chu Shan Ren and Han Sheng venture into Sleeping Dragon Valley, seeking a creature that attracts lightning. They take shelter from a storm, where Han Sheng's dog, Ben Ben, unexpectedly joins them. A giant bat appears, evading lightning using a menstrual cloth as a talisman. Wu Chu Shan Ren shoots the bat, which is revealed to be over a hundred years old. They retrieve the cloth, believed to have medicinal properties, leading Han Sheng to contemplate his healing abilities. After a night of reflection and a meal of dried mouse, Han Sheng departs, but finds his father missing upon returning home.
