Chapter 13: First Game with the Teacher. [13]
Summary
The Mu family is left in shock when Ye Quan claims to be the overall person in charge of District Six. Zhao Shucheng and others mock him, doubting his credibility. Mu Wencheng leads the ridicule, calling Ye Quan a rogue and a joke. Mu Xue is embarrassed and urges Ye Quan to stop, but he remains calm, comparing the situation to watching clowns perform. Zhao Shucheng, unsettled by the possibility of Ye Quan’s claim being true, challenges him to a bet: if Ye Quan fails to secure a piece of land for Mu Xue, he must kneel at the Mu family’s door for three days. Ye Quan counters, demanding Zhao Shucheng publicly shame Mu Wenjuan if he succeeds. The bet is accepted, and the family banquet ends on a tense note. The next day, Ye Quan and Mu Xue head to the land administration office, where Ye Quan confidently assures her of success. Meanwhile, Tang Zong, a powerful figure, tries to bribe Mei Renyi, the land director, to secure the land for himself. However, Mei Renyi reveals that higher-ups have ordered the land to be given to Mu Xue, leaving Tang Zong anxious. Suspecting Ye Quan’s true identity, Tang Zong contacts a mysterious figure, referred to as "Mister," who hints at a confrontation with Ye Quan, the Dragon King.Full content
