Summary

Dr. Zhu returns from Beijing to find a luxurious Hui-style estate built for him, funded by the government to improve his living conditions. Meng Zhu Qi, who greeted him, expresses concern for his son Han Sheng, who has been missing for over a month. Dr. Zhu learns from Wu Chu Shan Ren that Han Sheng will return soon and discusses plans for the new home. Meanwhile, Yi Qing and the old witch Shan Man arrive at a seaside village, preparing for a smuggling venture to Hong Kong. They meet a smuggler who arranges their passage, and after gathering oysters for dinner, they set off into the dark sea in a small boat.
