Chapter 125: The Dragon Stringed Zither and Dragon's Spittle Perfume (Part Two). [125]

Summary

The chapter summarizes a situation where Wang Ning An has found a way to profit from the skyrocketing prices of "dragon meat" (whale meat). Cao Yi, the emperor's brother-in-law, praises the emperor's kindness, but Wang Ning An believes the emperor needs to show more resolve to revive the failing economy. Wang Ning An arranges to sell the "dragon meat" and "dragon's spittle perfume" in exchange for grain, which he claims will save 200,000 citizens. This angers some of the older officials, who accuse Wang Ning An of exploiting the emperor's reputation for his own gain.
