Chapter 123. [125]

Summary

Tai Fu, accompanied by notable figures and martial arts masters, arrived at the Hong Shan tribe to address the rebellion against the court. He conducted meetings with local elders and clan heads, demanding confessions regarding their involvement in the insurrection. Those who refused faced severe punishment, including execution. Tai Fu identified key figures in the rebellion, leading to the execution of over thirty thousand individuals, including the Great Lord's family. The remaining young men were sent to the northern territories as laborers. Following the Great Lord's execution, Yi Di felt guilt and anxiety about his role in the events. Chief Minister Xia Qi suggested holding Yi Di accountable, leading to a decree of self-condemnation from Yi Di after being confronted with evidence of his secret orders. The elders supported this decision, and Yi Di expressed remorse, drafting a decree to apologize to the people.
