Summary

Liu Lan Cheng observes a Tang army camp at night, noting only two sentries on duty. He orders an attack to set fire to the camp using small torches, resulting in chaos as sleeping soldiers flee in panic. Many are captured, while Liu Lan Cheng learns the Tang commander perished in the flames. As dawn breaks, the camp is left in ruins with significant casualties among the Tang soldiers. Reinforcements arrive for Liu Lan Cheng, who hands over command of Pipa Valley to Li Ke Shi. Meanwhile, in the He Huang region, Tang general Hou Junji receives an urgent order from Li Shi Min to bolster defenses against the Zhou army. After gathering his generals, he decides to concentrate forces in Great Dou Ba Valley while ensuring Huangshui County remains defended.
