Chapter 120: "Secret Examination Record of Hong Shan Da Jun: Winds and Clouds of Wang Ji". [122]
Summary
Tie Tou and Zhou Chu escaped, and the Youqiong warriors stopped the Huai Mountain Clan from pursuing them. The Youqiong warriors took stock of their remaining troops, finding 800 warriors, but half of them were injured. They left 100 warriors to care for the injured and escorted the lord of the Hong Shan tribe back to Wang Ji to meet the Grand Minister of Heaven, Xia Qi. Xia Qi ordered the lord to be taken to the prison of the Autumn Bureau for trial and met with him, encouraging him to shift the blame onto Yi Di. Xia Qi also ordered his trusted aide to report on Yi Di's movements, finding that Yi Di was oblivious to his precarious situation. Xia Qi relayed the information to Dayu, who instructed him to summon all officials for a court meeting to discuss the trial of the lord of the Hong Shan tribe. The court convened, and Xia Qi read Yi Di's edict, informing all officials of the significant matter at hand. The officials agreed that the lord's rebellion warranted execution, and a public trial was necessary. After the trial, Xia Qi reported the proceedings to Dayu, who instructed him to strengthen surveillance over Yi Di's palace to prevent any escape.Full content
