Summary

Lin Hai Xia leaves the Divine General's residence filled with excitement after witnessing Li Hao's exceptional swordsmanship, realizing the child's immense talent. Despite Li Hao's young age of six and his seemingly carefree demeanor, Lin Hai Xia senses he has been secretly practicing. After a peaceful morning ritual, news arrives that Lin Hai Xia has returned, but only with a severed hand, revealing he was killed by a demon during an ambush. Li Hao is devastated and filled with rage upon learning the demon's name, the "Tiger Robe Immortal." He honors Lin Hai Xia by burying his hand in the courtyard and insists on proper compensation for Lin's family. As time passes, Li Hao becomes increasingly absorbed in chess, neglecting his sword practice, and later has a nightmare about Lin Hai Xia's death. He wakes to a revelation of understanding in chess.
