Summary

In a dark, oppressive night, Yao Mo Wan confronts Old Madam Gao, who is gravely injured and near death. Yao reveals her role in poisoning a dog to frame Gao, who had previously wronged her family. Despite Gao's pleas for mercy, Yao coldly recounts Gao's past atrocities against her, including poisoning her mother and selling her into servitude. After a chilling exchange, Yao uses a mysterious substance on Gao before leaving her to die. She instructs Liu Xing to burn the firewood room, wanting to erase all traces of Gao. Yao emphasizes to her servant, Ting Yue, the necessity of being more ruthless than their enemies to survive, solidifying her resolve for vengeance.
