Chapter 12: The Maze (1). [65]

Summary

The narrative follows a character named San Da, who wakes up in a cave with no memory of his identity or circumstances. Two men, a bald-headed figure and a chubby man named Gao Liang, are present. The bald man seems protective, treating San Da like a brother, while Gao Liang appears more pragmatic and cautious. San Da is suffering from a fever, and tensions rise when a dangerous entity called Chihsiao is mentioned. Gao Liang decides to take San Da down the mountain, leaving the bald man behind. As they attempt to escape, they encounter a "Red Person" that poses a significant threat. The situation escalates with gunfire and anxiety, as San Da feels an urgent need to help the bald man. The narrative conveys themes of memory loss, identity, and the bonds of loyalty amidst peril.
