Summary

Lu Chen encounters Ding Dang, who is collecting Spirit Stones to pass the Chiaki Gate's Immortal Mirror test. Lu Chen teases her, and she leaves, flushing. Lu Chen then meets Old Ma and Old Yu by the Shimizu stream. Old Ma asks Lu Chen what Ding Dang would do if she became a cultivator, and Lu Chen jokes that she would come back to guide him. Old Ma thinks she would kill Lu Chen instead. Lu Chen and Old Ma part ways, and Lu Chen walks to a grass hut at the foot of the mountain. Suddenly, he experiences immense pain, and black flames erupt from his body. He runs to the hut, enduring the pain, and enters it just as a gray stem floats down from above.
