Chapter 12: Fourth Compartment (9). [12]
Summary
In front of a small Western-style house, the narrator knocks loudly, driven by an unexplained anger. A young boy answers, asking who she seeks. When she inquires about Qiu Shi Ren, the boy rushes inside, announcing her arrival to his parents. Entering the home, she finds it messy but bright. Two men are present; one is anxious, while the other, a rugged young man, dismisses the middle-aged man who seeks help. The young man’s demeanor is aggressive, and he mocks the narrator, calling her "dirty" and likening her presence to a "rotting corpse." Tension builds as the narrator confronts his rudeness.Full content
