Chapter 12: Face-to-Face Challenge. [15]

Summary

Yang Qi, a seasoned warrior, recognizes Zhang Xuan as an exceptionally skilled challenger disguised as an observing disciple. Yang Qi arranges for Bian Shun to fight Zhang Xuan first, but Bian is swiftly defeated, shattering his knife. The remaining martial masters hesitate to step up, leading Liao Tong to reluctantly challenge Zhang Xuan. Despite Liao Tong's skill, he is overwhelmed and loses his sword, admitting defeat. Yang Qi then confronts Zhang Xuan, who demands Yang Qi's prized sword as a condition for the duel. Yang Qi, angered, attacks Zhang Xuan, who counters with a kick that injures Yang Qi. Chaos ensues as disciples call for Zhang Xuan's death, but he uses a black tortoise shell to instigate fear, causing a mass panic. Suddenly, three women in black appear, executing Yang Qi without resistance. The leader threatens Zhang Xuan, who defends himself, but the women escape, leaving Zhang Xuan in control of the martial hall.
