Chapter 12: Desert Tribe. [71]
Summary
Zhang Heng explains to Hao Qi that relying solely on a compass in the desert is insufficient due to the lack of reference points, and he suspects the Su Family navigates using underground rivers. Hao Qi realizes that these rivers could lead them to oases and desert tribes, which might hold information about ancient ruins. As they travel, they encounter shadows of desert dwellers who observe them silently. Hao Qi expresses his intent to protect the Su family without interfering in their plans. The next day, they are confronted by a large group of bandits led by a formidable giant, but the Su family quickly defeats them. They learn from the surviving bandits about the dire conditions of their tribe. While seeking information on the ruins, they meet a scarred woman in a slave hut who claims to know the ruins' location and offers to guide them.Full content
