Summary

In a troubled town, a little girl named Cai Cai and her grandmother face hardship as they struggle to survive. Cai Cai's father went to war five years ago and hasn't returned, while her mother has been missing for a year. The local mayor, Ma 3, has become tyrannical, worsening the lives of the townspeople. Li Mu, a compassionate figure, empathizes with their plight and resolves to help them.
