Chapter 1186: World War (44). [1190]
Summary
At dusk, a pigeon carrying a message from the Wang family is shot down, leading General Qu Tutong to discover instructions for delaying grain sales and increasing rents. Although he suspects treason, the Wang family defends their actions, exploiting a loophole in prohibitions left by the previous commander. Qu Tutong, frustrated but unable to find concrete evidence, surrounds the Wang estate and arrests key figures, including the county magistrate. He begins purging military personnel associated with the Wang family, despite his reservations about losing capable commanders. Meanwhile, Wang Jun Kuo, sensing danger, secretly communicates with the Zhou army, which is preparing for an assault on the city. Zhang Xuan of the Zhou army receives the message and contemplates a risky plan to take the city, deciding to coordinate with Wang Jun Kuo's efforts.Full content
