Summary

Du Chong stands on Tuan Tuan Mountain, anxious as he observes the campfires of Ma Yi's cavalry, representing a formidable military force. Despite his robust physique and training, he feels fear and uncertainty about the impending conflict. The Xu Family's guests, including Du Chong, are well-fed but lack combat experience, making them vulnerable. As the Bai Yue cavalry, led by Shi Chao Zhi, stealthily approach, Du Chong's loyalty to Xu Gan drives him to remain despite his terror. Shi Chao Zhi, confident in his superiority, prepares to attack, underestimating the villagers. The chapter ends with a sudden violent confrontation as Shi Chao Zhi strikes Du Chong.
