Summary
Wang Xuan Jing, promoted to Huya General, is tasked with supporting the East City under siege by the Tang army. Despite fierce fighting and the presence of five siege towers, he arrives with three thousand soldiers just in time to bolster the defenders. The battle intensifies as the Tang forces, led by Hou Junji, attempt to breach the city walls. Wang Xuan Jing realizes the siege towers are the main threat and orders oil to be used against them, successfully igniting the towers and halting the Tang advance. However, the Tang army suffers heavy casualties and ultimately retreats after a brutal two-and-a-half-hour battle, leaving the defenders exhausted but victorious.
