Chapter 1149: World War (7). [1153]

Summary

The Da Zhou Empire launched a multi-front attack on the Tang Dynasty, leading to the fall of Yan'an County and causing panic in Chang'an. The Tang government attempted to suppress the news but struggled as the situation worsened, with rising rice prices and fleeing citizens. Emperor Li Yuan, facing troop shortages, received counsel from his advisors on military strategy, while tensions rose regarding the Guanzhong nobles and their militia, the Zhuang Ding. Li Yuan decided to eliminate this threat despite the potential chaos it could cause. He summoned his son, Li Yuanji, to discuss the situation in Chang'an, where efforts to control rumors and unrest were underway.
