Chapter 1123: The Yu Jun Incident (Part 1). [1127]
Summary
The atmosphere in Chang An is calm but desolate, with the Xuanwu Jingwei, a powerful and feared organization, having expanded to 3,000 members and exerting immense power over the city. Despite the news of Zhang Xuan's ascension to the throne, no one dares to speak of it, and the citizens live in fear of being arrested and executed. In a tavern, a group of students, including Yu Wei Ming, are celebrating his 24th birthday when they are suddenly arrested by the Xuanwu Jingwei on suspicion of being enemy spies. The students are brutally beaten and dragged away, with Yu Wei Ming being thrown into a windowless cart. The Minister of National University, Lu De Ming, arrives at the tavern and learns of the arrest, but he is unable to rescue the students and can only seek help from Yu Wei Ming's father, Yu Jun, who is a prominent figure among the Guanlong nobility. Meanwhile, the Xuanwu Jingwei continues to exert its power, with its prison, known as the Black Prison, being a place of terror where countless families are ruined and prisoners are subjected to brutal torture.Full content
