Chapter 112: The Loss of All Senses [111]

Summary

The chapter begins with Song Yao Zhi returning to the Luo Shui Palace, where she finds the interior warm and well-furnished despite the coldness outside. Zhu Ying, her concerned maid, offers to add more charcoal to the fire, but Song Yao Zhi insists she is warm. They discuss the presence of Your Majesty, who will be staying next door. Jun Fu enters and checks on Song Yao Zhi, revealing that she has lost her sense of pain due to a curse, which will soon take away her other senses as well. Ji Fu reassures her of her safety while they prepare for her medicinal bath. After the bath, Song Yao Zhi feels disheartened and asks for a cloth to cover her eyes. Once blindfolded, she navigates the room using her memory, successfully finding her way to the courtyard. She shares her fears from the previous night with Cen, who has entered the courtyard. As they walk, she reflects on her past and gives Zhu Ying advice on avoiding deceitful men. Cen's mood shifts as he listens, and after returning to the main courtyard, he leaves quietly. Inside, Song Yao Zhi removes her blindfold and contemplates whether Cen understood her underlying message, before asking Zhu Ying to prepare food for her.
