Summary

Shi Mu, now more mature and battle-hardened after a few years of training, is hiding in a tree near the city of Mu, which has been devastated by barbarian invasions. As he prepares to ambush a group of barbarian cavalry, he reflects on the horrors he has witnessed. When the patrol passes, he attacks, showcasing his skills in combat against a powerful totem warrior. Despite a fierce battle, Shi Mu defeats the barbarian leader and the surrounding warriors with swift efficiency. After collecting a valuable bone plate from the slain warrior, he escapes the scene just as another group of barbarians arrives, led by a middle-aged warrior who vows to avenge his fallen kin. Shi Mu, now safely in a misty forest, contemplates the ongoing war against the barbarians, which has led to the alliance of three countries and the involvement of various sects, including his own, the Black Magic Sect.
