Chapter 1089: Night Attack on Hulao (Part 3). [1093]
Summary
Wei Wen Tong reveals his strategy to attack Hulao Pass with only five hundred soldiers lost in a day. He explains the structural weaknesses of the pass, particularly the rotting wooden beams supporting the walls and the vulnerable northern section made of clay bricks. The Sui army prepares for the siege by assembling five giant trebuchets designed to target these weaknesses. As night falls, the trebuchets are positioned and begin launching jars of flammable oil at the city, causing panic among the defending Zheng army soldiers. Amidst the chaos, the Sui soldiers advance, forming a shield wall and preparing to attack as the oil ignites, setting the stage for an impending assault.Full content
