Chapter 108: "Sanmiao Contention: Hong Shan Rescue Battle". [110]
Summary
The Sanmiao Alliance, after retreating, prepared to support the Hong Shan Bu Luo against the court's army. The San Miao Duke, advised by leaders from the Gong Gong and Guandou clans, decided to wait for the Jiuli clan's Duke to engage before sending aid. Meanwhile, court Taibao Zhen Shi informed Xia Qi of the San Miao's potential support for the Hong Shan Bu Luo, prompting Xia Qi to order Zhen Shi to restrain the Sanmiao Alliance. The Xia Guan Bing Ma Si Zheng organized a siege against the Hong Shan Bu Luo, leading to a devastating ambush against the Hong Shan troops. As the siege progressed, the Hong Shan Duke sought help, but the San Miao Duke delayed his response until he confirmed the Jiuli clan's involvement. Eventually, the San Miao Duke sent reinforcements, but the court's army had already suffered heavy losses and decided to regroup. The Jiuli clan's Duke joined forces with the Hong Shan Duke, leading to a combined force of nearly 90,000 troops. The Hong Shan Duke proposed a meeting to strategize against the Xia family court, and the San Miao Duke welcomed the Jiuli clan's participation, although the opportunity for a decisive battle against the court had passed.Full content
