Summary

Zhang Xuan observes Du Fuwei's troops marching towards Lu Jiang Jun and notes his lack of strategic vision. He plans to lead the rulers of Chang'an into a trap. Du Fuwei's army, despite being small, aims to swell in numbers as they reach the Chaohu Plain. After a forced march, Du Fuwei's troops arrive at the deserted Nanping Town, where they begin looting. Unbeknownst to them, Xu Shiji's cavalry is preparing to surround them. When Du Fuwei learns of the impending attack, he attempts to escape but is betrayed by Han Huang, who kills him. Han Huang then returns to Nanping Town with Du Fuwei's head as the Sui army burns the town.
