Chapter 104: Stirring the Grass to Startle the Snake. [104]

Summary

Chang Wei begins his investigation at a glass factory by inspecting the perimeter instead of the crime scene. The factory's fence is made of bamboo and bricks due to material shortages. He deduces that stolen items, like the heavy platinum wire crucible, couldn't have exited through the front gate. Despite poor weather obscuring evidence, he discovers bamboo poles indicating a possible escape route. After some speculation, he concludes the items were hoisted and dragged away. In a tense atmosphere, Chang Wei plans to openly gather clues, believing the thief is an insider. Meanwhile, tensions rise as rival teams clash over jurisdiction and information.
