Chapter 1039: The West Market Incident (Part 2). [1043]
Summary
As dusk settled, Luo Yu Min arrived at the bustling Qing Yun Tavern, where he was greeted warmly by a waiter. Despite his family's modest wealth and repeated failures in the imperial exams, Luo Yu Min's fortunes improved when he became an aide to Li Yuanji through a family connection. He proposed a plan for revenge against the Huang Family's textile shop, which Li Yuanji accepted, unaware that it wasn't originally Luo Yu Min's idea. While enjoying his meal, Luo Yu Min discussed recent events with Gao Jin, highlighting their scheme to create conflict between Li Yuanji and Qu Tu Ge. Despite Qu Tu Ge's refusal to back down, Luo Yu Min aimed to manipulate the situation to their advantage. Qu Tu Ge, angered by Luo Yu Min's threats, wrote a letter of impeachment to the Emperor, leading to a tense confrontation between Li Yuanji and his father, Emperor Li Yuan. Li Yuanji attempted to defend himself, framing the incident as a lawful action against suspected Northern Sui spies, but his father remained skeptical and demanded accountability for the actions of his aides. Ultimately, Li Yuanji was instructed to bring the perpetrators to justice, leaving him filled with resentment and a desire for revenge against Qu Tu Ge and Qu Tu Tong.Full content
