Summary

Zhang Wei seeks guidance from the Kirin, who hints at the significance of twelve runes in a plan to create a gyroscope for immortality. As they arrive at the North Gate, they find unconscious workers and a horse, with Gao Yang standing unscathed but entranced. The Kirin admires Gao Yang's will but is soon confronted by a trap involving a Black Gold fine ring. Gao Yang activates his defense techniques, trapping the Kirin within an "Absolute Barrier." Zhang Wei, realizing Gao Yang is lost in a dream, attempts to wake him by invoking painful memories of loss and urging him to believe in himself, hoping to break the dream's hold.
