Chapter 1037: The Western Market Incident (Part 1). [1041]
Summary
In a small room at the Chang'an Qingyun Tavern, officials from the Chang'an Intelligence Bureau, led by Yang Zhong Lan, discussed strategies to take down Qu Tutong, who was suspected of deception. Deputy Qin Xiao Yuan suggested that Qu Tutong's lack of trust from Li Yuan could be leveraged, while military advisor Gao Jin proposed a plan involving a previously turned informant. Meanwhile, Qu Tū Gai, the Chang'an magistrate and Qu Tutong's brother, faced challenges in investigating a fire incident caused by a powerful family, which angered the emperor. As Qu Tū Gai dealt with this issue, he received reports of a violent altercation at the West Market involving servants of the Prince of Chu, resulting in fatalities. Upon arrival, he discovered the chaotic scene and identified a white-robed man, Luo Yu Min, as a key figure in the conflict, who arrogantly dismissed Qu Tū Gai's authority. The chapter ends with tensions escalating as Luo Yu Min commands the destruction of the fabric shop.Full content
