Summary

In a small study, a young princess paints a striking portrait of Pei Zi Yun, a top scholar, while her teasing mother questions her feelings for him. The elder princess reveals Pei's impressive talents and political insights, but warns of his dark involvement in violence. Meanwhile, Pei Zi Yun enjoys a leisurely morning, receiving a basket of dubious relics from a toothwoman. Despite initial disappointment, he discovers some valuable Taoist scriptures among the items.
